Arrest and law

This page explains arrests, detainment, summons, searches, and police alerts from both sides of the roleplay.

TL;DR

  • Arrest powers: POLIS, KPTD, and Polis Bantuan.
  • Standard flow: detain -> move if needed -> cuff -> arrest.
  • Jail timer: 3 minutes.
  • LTAA: leaving while detained or being arrested can auto-jail you when you return.
  • RTAA: reset is disabled at low health to prevent escape.
  • Saman: police summons are deducted immediately.

Who can arrest

TeamNotes
POLISMain police force.
KPTDMilitary police.
Polis BantuanTransit police, usually transit-focused.

Other teams can call police, witness, assist, or roleplay scene support, but they do not process normal arrests.

The Yang di-Pertuan Persekutuan has ceremonial law-enforcement equipment, but real arrest processing should still involve POLIS, KPTD, or Polis Bantuan.

The arrest flow

Officer perspective

  1. Detain the suspect.
  2. Move or ground the suspect if the scene needs control.
  3. Cuff the suspect.
  4. Arrest with a short, factual reason.
  5. The suspect is moved to the Arrested team and starts the release timer.

Officers should explain the charge, keep the scene in character, and avoid unnecessary force.

Suspect perspective

When arrested:

  • Your team becomes Arrested.
  • Your screen shows the arrest UI and countdown.
  • Your tools and movement are restricted.
  • After 3 minutes, you are released and can choose a team again.

LTAA - leave to avoid arrest

Leaving while detained, cuffed, or being arrested is LTAA. The game can apply the arrest timer when you return, even in a later session.

Do not rage-quit to escape a scene. It usually makes the outcome worse.

RTAA - reset to avoid arrest

Resetting to escape roleplay is RTAA. Bandaraya prevents this by disabling reset when your health is at or below 75 HP.

If you are injured, wait for treatment, continue the scene, or let the arrest play out.

Saman summons

Police can issue summons for traffic or minor offences.

  • POLIS and Polis Bantuan can issue Saman summons.
  • Person summons use the familiar hover/click Saman workflow again.
  • Vehicle summons can be issued by plate number.
  • Fine amounts must be between 1 and 1,000 BR.
  • Officers have a short cooldown between summons.
  • The fine is deducted immediately and appears in your summons history.

If you believe a summons was unfair, take it to staff through the community appeal process.

Searches

Officers can request to search you.

  • You receive a consent popup.
  • If you accept, the officer can inspect your carried items.
  • If you decline, continue the roleplay and follow staff guidance if a dispute happens.

Fingerprinting and ID

Police may use fingerprinting or ID checks during investigations. This helps confirm identity during arrests, BOLOs, and summons.

BOLO alerts

A BOLO is a police alert for a suspect. POLIS can create and review BOLOs through the MDT tablet. A BOLO helps officers coordinate, but it is not a licence to break roleplay or skip proper procedure.

Getting out of trouble

  • Wait out the 3-minute timer.
  • Stay in character.
  • Appeal through the community server if you believe staff review is needed.

What not to do

These can lead to moderation action:

  • Leaving to avoid arrest.
  • Resetting to avoid arrest.
  • Glitching through walls or restricted areas.
  • Abusing tools while detained, cuffed, injured, or arrested.
  • Going rogue while on a public-service team.
